This treasure island that Koreans love the most is located to the south of Korea, in the middle of the clean sea. Jeju Island is listed as one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. It was selected as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (2002), World Natural Heritage (2007), and Global Geopark (2010). It is no exaggeration to say that the entire island is a huge tourist resource. It is full of things to see, eat, and enjoy all year round, so Koreans pick Jeju as the number one tourist destination they want to visit every year. The best way to enjoy Jeju is to step into the bosom of nature. Hallasan Mountain, which hides Baengnokdam Crater Lake, a small lake where deer drink water at the summit, with 360 parasitic cones, columnar joints, etc., allows you to feel the attraction of a volcanic island fully. Forests such as Bijarim Forest, Saryeonisup Forest Trail, and Jeolmul Recreational Forest embrace tourists with their full vitality. The sea surrounding Jeju is also attractive: Hyeopjae Beach, which boasts emerald colors; Samyang Beach, with black sand; and Iho Tewoo Beach, with an impressive wooden horse lighthouse. There is also a way to travel to Jeju's attractions on foot. The Jeju Olle Trail, a world-class trail comparable to the Camino de Santiago. It is a long course that connects Jeju and is a scenic place to walk for a while. As a world-class tourist destination, it is well-equipped with five-star hotels and resorts, and there are pretty cafés and restaurants everywhere. The blessings of the sea are found in Jeju's local cuisine: cutlassfish soup, sea urchin and seaweed soup, and grilled red tilefish are especially delicious. Also, be sure to try hallabong, black pork, and meat noodles, which are Jeju specialties.
